FAQs REGARDING SEASONAL VACCINES FOR 2O23-24

How do we schedule influenza vaccines at PANS?

  • You will self-schedule flu vaccine appointments on your MyChart patient portal.

  • Who is eligible? Everyone over age 6 months. Patients who already have an upcoming appointment scheduled for well care will be offered the vaccine at that visit & do not need a separate appointment for the flu shot. 

  • All appointments must be scheduled in advance (no walk-ins).

  • If you are not able to find an appointment for your child, please send a MyChart scheduling message. You can expect a call back from our team within 2 business days to facilitate scheduling, so please be sure to provide the best number to reach you in your message.

Can my child also get the new seasonal COVID vaccine at their flu shot appointment?

  • YES — if we have appropriate stock.

  • Who is eligible? Everyone over age 6 months.

    • Anyone who completed a primary series and whose last vaccine was at least 2 months ago and COVID infection at least 3 months ago.

    • Anyone who has never received a COVID vaccine.

    • Children under 5 who have not completed their primary series will do so with this vaccine. 

  • When you self-schedule the appointment, please add your request for COVID vaccine in the ‘reason for appointment’ section.

What paperwork is needed to receive these vaccines?

  • Vaccine screening questionnaires should be completed in MyChart before the appointment.

  • You can e-check-in for all appointments at PANS using MyChart — completing questionnaires & eliminating the need to sign most consents in the office.

Can parents/guardians receive influenza vaccines at PANS?

  • YES! Please send a MyChart scheduling message with this request.

  • You can expect a call back from our team within 2 business days to facilitate scheduling, so please be sure to provide the date/time of your child’s appointment & the best number to reach you in your message.

  • We cannot offer COVID vaccine for parents due to limited vaccine supply.

I don’t have a MyChart account — what do I do?

  • We will be happy to send you activation information!

  • Please call the office at low volume times (e.g. 10am-12:30pm or 2-4pm) to request MyChart access.

Flu shot procedures:

  • Families will call before entering the office to be directed to a clean exam room

  • We ask that you limit those attending flu clinic to family members receiving the vaccine that day accompanied by a healthy adult
